Who We Are

The Psychosynthesis International program consists of twenty-one sequential lessons based on readings from Psychosynthesis and coordinated writings.

We have twenty-six successful years of experience in teaching Psychosynthesis using distance learning.

Psychosynthesis began in 1910 with the early work of Italian psychiatrist, Roberto Assagioli, M.D. Dr. Assagioli was a colleague of Sigmund Freud, C.G. Jung and Abraham Maslow. Assagioli's work combined methods from Western psychology with spiritually oriented Eastern traditions.

Edith Stauffer, Ph.D., a student of Assagioli, taught Psychosynthesis at High Point Foundation in Pasadena, CA, from 1965 until 1980. In 1981 she founded Psychosynthesis International so that people in remote or urban areas throughout the world could study and benefit from Psychosynthesis.

Currently, the PSI faculty is composed of licensed counseling and mental health professionals, educators, medical professionals, business professionals and parent educators.

PSI has been serving students, teachers, psychiatrists, psychologists, health professionals, clergy, laypeople, business executives and others worldwide for over 36 years.

Our mission is to increase awareness, facilitate personal healing and education on emotional, physical and spiritual levels. We endeavor to be actively involved in the betterment and healing of our world. Our program has been taught in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, Japan, Trinidad, Brazil, Africa and the United States.
